Qigong(Chi-Kung)- Directly translates as "Qi" = energy and "Gong" = skill or exercise.  It is a gentle meditation in motion where the focus is on breath.  It is a powerful self-healing system that includes illness prevention, health maintenance, stress reduction and relaxation.

With a background in both Yoga and Shaolin Kung Fu, Matt brings elements of these other disciplines to his Qigong classes.  Gentle stretches, foundation stances and the occasional asana will be integrated into the meditative movements.

This is a class that focuses on truly relaxing the participant.  All exercises are low-impact and designed to generate a feeling of fluidity and mental serenity.

This class will focus on strengthening the "powerhouse" (abs and buttocks) to execute exercises, which are designed to increase flexibility, strengthen muscles and improve posture.
